Einar Anderson, son of Topers Anders and Anna Anderson, was born in Orsa, Sweden, on Nov.12,1918. He immigrated with his parents and siblings to Canada in 1925 and grew up in the Marchant Grove district. He joined the army in 1943 and trained first at Brandon, Manitoba, then at Terris, British Columbia. Two weeks before his unit was sent to England, he was driving a Brengun Carrier that tipped and rolled down a hill. He spent eight months in hospital in a body cast with a broken back. He suffered with back pain for the rest of his life. While being rehabilitated, he continued his training at the hospital until he was discharged in 1945. While in training, he met his wife, Vyvian, who was also in the Army. They had three children and later were divorced.

Einar worked at Kitamat Alcan Aluminium for several years. In 1964, he moved to Prince George to cook at Pacific Northern Railway camps. In 1969, he married Connie who had two sons from a former marriage. Two years later, they moved to Kamloops where Connie still resides. His favourite pastimes were gardening and cooking. He died on Sept.14,1996.
