Parents: Thomas Rusk, born January 31, 1874 in Revenna, Ontario, of Irish parentage. Mary Elizabeth Thompson, born April 8, 1877. Married April 6, 1904. Six children, George, Jean, Donald, Andrew, Archie and Neil.

He married Francis Duval.

Neil, born August 14, 1918, in the family farmhouse in Belle Plain, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Rayside half a mile south of the Rayside school which Neil attended. He joined the army in June 1941, in Saskatoon with the Saskatchewan Light Infantry. He went to Trois Rivieres, Quebec, England, Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and into Germany. He was the only son to see action overseas. He was shown as missing in action for seven months due to his records being mislaid by Army officials. He was discharged in December 1945, disembarking at Brussels, going to the White Cliffs of Dover and then home.

Neil was married to Frances Duval Nov 29, 1946 Together they raised five children, Donna, Patrick, Bonnie, Barry & Connie. Dad (Neil) & Mom (Frances) were married 46 years when he passed away Feb 12, 1987 at age 67.Neil would never turn down a wager on a good game of "Crib".

Dad would say: "I'm just an ordinary guy, a soldier who went to war, slept in muddy fox holes and went hungry for days on end; pays the rent and keeps food on the table. A guy who loves little babies, kittens and old people."
