Frederick Percy Delf was born on 25 August 1884 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England to Edward Muskett Delf (1849-1907) & Sydney Mary Jones (1847-1911). Fred had three brothers, William Muskett (1875-1961), Albert Edward (1877-1942) & John Henry (1883-1957) and four sisters, Sydney Mary (1876-1951), Elizabeth Lloyd (1880-1958), Catherine Jane (1881-1882) & Louisa Jane (1886-1940).
Mrs Sydney Mary and three of her children, Sydney Mary, John Henry & Frederick Percy all came to Canada together or separately around 1904-1908, but we have not been able to find the immigration records. It seems that John came out first, in 1904 as a student travelling to New York, US and subsequently returned to England. He sailed again with his mother probably after the death of her husband in 1907. Fred was a cashier at National Trust Co in Saskatoon in 1908 and living in Poplar Crescent W. The same year Mrs SM was dress-making and lived in Lorne Ave, Saskatoon. The following year she established a dress-making business with a Mrs W Mills at 306 3rd Ave S, Saskatoon and John was in partnership with a James D MacDonald to form MacDonald & Delf, Real Estate, Investment & Customs Brokers at 132 21st St, Saskatoon.
Sydney Mary married Edward Charles Inskip (1881-1950), John Henry married Charlotte Agnes Harrison (1883-1973) and Frederick Percy married Pearl Garneau Smith (1888-1961). Pearl was born on 12 July 1888 in Shelburne, Carleton, Ontario to William Lovell Smith (1860-1948) & Melissa Jane Garneau (1867-1921). Pearl had two brothers, Henry (b 1890) & Lovel Mathew (1899-1982) and two sisters, Pearl Garneau (1888-1961) & Ida Emily born on 25 March 1892 in Dufferin, Ontario.
Frederick Percy Delf was an accountant at the time of his marriage, working for National Trust Co at 279 2nd Avenue S in Saskatoon. By 1922, Fred was the company secretary for National Trust Co and was living at 1035 University Drive. The following year he was an estates officer and later in 1925 he was living at YMCA, 500-506 Spadina Crescent E. In 1926, he and Pearl sailed from Cuba to Key, West, Florida, arriving on 27 November. In 1929, Fred & Pearl emigrated via London, UK to Fremantle, Western Australia. They settled in Magnetic Island, Townsville, Queensland, Australia where Fred was a bookkeeper from 1936-1948. Fred died in Townsville on 6 March 1948. Pearl died in Toowoomba, Queensland on 13 August 1961.
Ida Emily Smith moved with the family to Saskatoon and lived with her mother and father at 724 Saskatchewan Crescent. No trace of Ida has been found after 1920.
