THOMAS STURGIS BAYLEY Jr, STONEWALL JACKSON BULL
Thomas Stugis Bayley Jr was born 17 June 1867 in Accoamck to Thomas Sturgis Bayley Sr (1830-1886) and Elizabeth Margaret Boggs (1827-1916). Thomas had four siblings, Annie Justis (1856-1943), James Henry (1857-1919), Margaret Sarah (1862-1927) and Georgia C (1864-1951).
Thomas married Virginia Lee Mcconnell née Weaver around 1898. Virginia was born on 17 January 1866 to James Clayton Weaver (1822-1900) and Sallie Polk Sturgis (1828-1872). Virginia had five siblings, Sally Polk (1853-1944), Elizabeth Sabra (1855-1858), George Nathaniel (1857-1933), James Thomas (1859-1949) and Ann Elizabeth (1861-1859).
Thomas and Virginia had two sons, Thomas Sturgis III (1900-1981) and William Henry (1902-1985).
Thomas worked as an agent for the Eastern Shore Produce Exchange. Virginia died on 13 September 1924 in Onancock. Thomas subsequently married Minnie G Kellam née Ames (1871-1936). Thomas died on 30 October 1950 in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Virginia’s sister, Sally Polk Weaver (1853-1944), married Joseph Clayton Wescott (1856-1923) on 2 September 1885 in Accomack. Joseph was the widower of Charlotte “Lottie” V James (1860-1884). Joseph and Lottie had two daughters,
Elsie James (1882-1917) and
Eula Lottie (1184-1943).
Elsie James Wescott married Albert M Hutchinson (1882-1902) on 20 December 1900 in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Subsequent to Albert’s death, Elsie married Stonewall Jackson Bull on 17 January 1905 in Onancock.
Stonewall Jackson Bull was born on 2 December 1863 in Accomack to James Henry Bull (b 1825) and Elizabeth James Hutchinson (b 1829). Stonewall had six siblings, James D (1854-1922), Mary Anne (1861-1949), Rose Lee (1861-1947), Margaret E (b 1865), Elizabeth S (b 1866) and George William (1873-1942).
Stonewall operated the general store in Onancock for several years. He and Elsie had three children,
Virginia Bell (1908-1998),
Charlotte R (1910-1995) and
Elsie Jackson (1913-2008).
Elsie died on 9 September 1917 in Onancock. Stonewall died on 11 June 1939 in Onancock.
