R J Bishop - Roland John Bishop - he worked as a shoe maker prior to the war. After the war he apprenticed as a butcher for Burns. He did not like that line of work and decided to be a meat salesman, I believe he worked for Swifts Meats first and then went into business for himself selling for Fletchers - he drove truck delivering to stores out in the Vancouver lower mainland - Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and to some towns in Fraser Canyon. He did this until about 1965 and then worked as a salesman for Canada Packers. He retired in about 1988 or so. He was married to Doris, and had three daughters, Judy, Wendy and Sherry. My dad died Oct 7, 1993, he died with ALS, but it was a stroke that he actually died of. His wife Doris, died Jan 25, 2000.
